Having trouble finding or creating your Notion internal key or your People Database? We got you covered!
1- How to create an internal Notion API key?
Workplace admins only can create internal API keys.
Here’s the page where Workspace admins can create and manage API keys: https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations
Once you have created an API Key, you’ll be able to register it in inNotion.
An API key is useless if it isn’t tied to at least one Notion Database! We explain how to grant your API Key access to a given Notion Database in the next paragraph.
You can find and copy the API Keys created by your Workplace admin in the Settings/Connections section of your Workplace.
2- How to authorize a Notion Database?
If you don’t see your Contacts database in inNotion when setting up your Notion settings, the most probable cause is that your internal Notion API Key doesn’t grant access to your target database. Here’s how to fix it.
Notion internal API Keys give access to other apps to your pages and databases based on authorizations you give.
Notion doesn’t provide (yet) a simple way so easily authorize access through a list of pages/databases. Authorizations are granted at a very granular level.
To authorize access through your internal Notion API key to a given page or database, browse to this page/database, click on the three dots icon at the top left of the page, and click on the “Connections” option. There you’ll be able to select your API Key.
